Turmeric and ginger tea: Both turmeric and ginger possess anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric is rich in an antioxidant called curcumin as an active ingredient. It lowers the level of enzymes responsible for the inflammation of joints.
Steps to use: Boil ground ginger and ground turmeric in 2 cups of water till it reduces by half. Strain it and add a spoonful of honey to it. Drink the concoction twice a day for optimal results.
Epsom salt soak: Epsom salt is rich in magnesium sulfate which is, in reality, a wonderful chemical. It is a naturally occurring chemical, with high levels of magnesium which is really good at healing joint pains and is used for the same for a long time now.
Steps to use: Take half a tub of warm water and mix one cup of Epsom salt in it. Now soak your sore joints in the solution. If you’re experiencing pain in a joint that is inconvenient to soak, take a bath in the warm water and Epsom salt solution.
Alternating hot and cold packs: Hot and cold packs, when applied simultaneously, can work wonderfully to provide your relief from the pain.
Steps to use: Apply a hot therapeutic gel to the affected area for 15 minutes immediately followed by an ice pack. Repeat twice a day for optimal results.
Fenugreek: Fenugreek is popular for healing joint pains due to its anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It is very beneficial for arthritis patients.
Steps to use: Eat a spoonful of finely ground fenugreek seeds with warm water on an empty stomach early in the morning. You can also soak fenugreek seeds in a glass of water overnight and drink it in the morning. Do it daily for optimal results.
Apple cider vinegar: Apple cider vinegar heals joint pain by eliminating toxins that accumulate in joints and connective tissues. It is rich in minerals like magnesium, calcium, potassium and phosphorus and is beneficial for those who suffer from arthritis.
Steps to use: Take 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and mix it in a cup of warm water. Add few drops of honey to the solution. Drink this solution 3-4 times a day preferably on an empty stomach. You can also have this solution daily because it is good for your overall health. Massaging the mixture of apple cider vinegar and olive oil over the affected area will also yield optimal results.
Carrot and lime juice: Carrot is an excellent pain reliever. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it is quite popular as an orthodox Chinese remedy.
Steps to use: Take the juice out of 2 raw carrots, add a few drops of lemon and drink on an empty stomach for optimal results.
Peppermint and eucalyptus oil mixture: Peppermint and eucalyptus are famous as an analgesic and effective pain-reliever. You can further down your pain and discomfort by applying a mixture of these oils on your sore joints. This home-made joint pain remedy, when used regularly, can provide your knees with some much-needed relaxation.
Steps to use: Mix 5-6 drops of eucalyptus and peppermint oil together. Since these 2 are essential oils, mix some coconut, olive or almond oil to it as well. Apply on your sore joints at regular intervals for optimal results.
Cayenne pepper: Cayenne pepper is enriched with a compound called capsaicin which is a natural analgesic and pain reliever. In a 2010 study published in the Journal of the Medical Association of Thailand, researchers found that applying a gel containing 0.0125 percent capsaicin helped relieve mild to moderate pain in women suffering from knee osteoarthritis.
Steps to use: Heat half a cup of coconut oil and add 2 spoonfuls of cayenne pepper powder to it. Massage in the affected area and leave it for 20 minutes. Then rinse it off with warm water. Repeat it at least 4-5 times a day for optimal results.
